The morphology and the typology of this chandelier come from the original fixture installed in the ceremonial hall of Dolmabahce Palace in the mid 19th century. The origin of the texture can be traced back to Czech glass-makers. It is the biggest chandelier, made from Czech glass, that has ever been produced. It consists of 750 lights and weights 4.5 tons. It was given to Sultan Abdülmecid the first by British Queen Victoria.
